Wayne is currently Head of the Health Programme at the Met Office in Exeter. Having trained as a meteorologist, Wayne went on to presenting the weather on BBC television before moving to become a senior lecturer at the MET Office College.
In 2003, Wayne became the Chief Press Officer at the MET Office managing the PR and media affairs for the organisation. Through a time when climate change was becoming one of the top news issues across the world, handling and working with national and international media, was challenging and exciting.
After a year as Government Business Manager, working strategically to link Met Office scientific and operational capability with the functions of government, Wayne moved to head up the Met Office Health Programme in February 2008.
