I am curious to find out more about something, I was just ordering my vitamins from the internet, the company I use is excellent, the thing is I was thinking of trying something to try to lift my mood and spirits to see if it would help me cope this winter.
The item has tryptophan, which I have read is an ammino acid, what I want to know is I thought tryptophan was an anti-depressant, and I right or wrong?, it says that this ammino acid is naturally in the body but with depression these levels are low, but some anti-depressants are addictive and I am just a wee bit worried about trying it, I have tried St.Johns Wort but found that I had to stop it because I suffered from side effects.
Thanks for reading and for any advice you can offer.

Eat 2,000,000 bananas , then see how you feel , if you feel happy then buy the Tryptophan ! lol :0)
Im pretty sure it is a supplement and not an actual Anti-Depressant , the companies on the web don't sell Anti-D's as per prescriptive law (well the uk for sure) so I think your pretty safe :0)

Oops, I made a mistake, I got my Tryptophan and Triptofen mixed up, I found out when I went to my reflexologist yesterday and we looked it up, it was in one of her books we found that it is Triptofen which is the anti-depressant I was worried about, which has the nasty side effects, lol.
Thanks for your responses Hadrian & Marky, although I think I would get a bit fed up with eating all those bananas 2 million, I can't see it somehow lol.

Eat the bananas made into muffins... with chocolate chips of course! Glad you sorted out the difference.

Wish I could eat bananas, I used to eat them a lot when I was young, now they just make me feel sick?

I have to watch eating bananas. They spike your blood sugar. Mine then dips about two hours after I eat a banana, leaving me feeling sluggish, sick to my stomach and generally unwell.
