Hello everyone
I have had SAD for 11 years now and although I've learnt to cope with it this year has hit me really hard. I think because we've had such a dark summer in the uk and I've had symptoms all the way through I thought that I was doing ok. But with the days getting shorter and the weather getting even worse my symptoms of unsuppressable hunger, mood changes and tiredness are getting worse.

I know there are supplements to help SAD but have never tried them can anyone suggest one?

Sorry for the rant!
Nic

Have you tried st johns wort, quite a lot of people take it for sad/depression and seem to get quite good results.

Nicky, I originally read your thread title as "I'd forgotten how difficult I could be" - sums me up at the moment!

I'm struggling quite badly at the mo and am becoming a bit of a cow to live with. I can see and feel it happening but I don't seem to be able to stop it happening...

Thats exactly how I feel it's like I am watching myself on this downwards spiral and I keep thinking don't say that or behave yourself!
I might give the st johns wort a go! Don't want to medicate this year unless i really have to- so thought i'd try the herbal equivelant.

I have read that SJW also makes you light sensitive, so it isnt a good idea apparently to mix it with Light therapy.

I have heard that Me.

I was interested to listen to the doctor on GMTV going on about what you can do to help SAD. His advice was to use light therapy and to take SJW.......

Interesting. Should have done his research I think!
