Anyone got any good tips for motivation. I know we all find it hard at this time of year, so i thought sharing best practice would help all of us. I think my motivation tip is having someone else to do things with me. then i can't get out of it. If anyone has any ideas for staying awke or just getting up they would be gratefully received! Haven't found out how to stop myself from crying for no reason either!

I'm finding the dawn simulator helps with waking up in the morning. Waking gently seems to be much easier than sudden alarm.

I went on my med as a precautionary measure (I can hear you all gasping in horror! LOL!). When you have all picked your chins up off the floor, listen to me say that This day last year I went off sick for 12 weeks. This year to date I haven't had even one bout of crying. I started med on suggestion of doc mid September, before I had any of the bad (ie depression)symptoms of SAD. Iwouldn't describe things as normal, as I'm moderating what I do and am having a stressful time in some respects as our building work still isn't finished and a load of other stuff, but I can cope with what HAS to be done and a little bit more for me.

I would also say... turn your brain off. Get out of bed and don't stop moving until you've washed and dressed and got a cuppa in front of you. THen sit with the lamp. These four things get me going.....

1.out of bed
2.washed
3. dressed.
4. cuppa/meds/supplements/brekkie
5. lamp

OK, it's 5 things. But if I get that far without thinking about it, then it's a good start and the difficult bit over and done with.
