Hi folks
Last week I took 3 days off work to sleep and eat - the start of the symptoms. So I knew what to do. Get out and walk, cut the junk food. This week I have swam and cycled and using my light constantly - and I am feeling great. I hope my wee story of the week helps.

Hi and well done. Sounds like you are doing the right things. We all know that exercise and eating/ drinking right is one of the simplest ways to help us feel better... but if we are feeling down, we can't be bothered! It's really good to hear from other people who reaffirm that exercise and diet make a difference. Thank you! I hope this winter goes ok for you and you continue as you have started!

Well both me and my OH have decided to ask for vouchers for Christmas and we are going to buy some bikes. This is going to be my new exercise regime, going on bike rides with my OH. Hopefully by the spring/summer I will be able to cycle the 8 miles to work and back.

A couple of years ago I did the race for life so gonna try and do that again next year.

I started riding to work every day in April, doing about 6 miles each way. I'm pretty sure it's helped how I feel a lot.

When we were on holiday in Prague I wanted to go white water rafting but we weren't able to. Thought the adrenalin rush would be amazing.

I used to do lots of high impact sports like netball, aerobics and salsa dancing. I used to love it. I can't do it now because of my ME so have to do more sedate exercise, pilates, swimming etc so hope cycling is gonna be ok. Will give it a try anyway, it will be nice to be out in the fresh sunshine in the spring.

Yeah go for it Suzie! I'm not sporty but have really enjoyed doing it. If you start in the spring and go through the summer then I'd hope it would set you up well for next autumn/winter - Dr Norm says so after all!

Hi Guys

My hushand bought a bike for Mother's day and its has been my life saver. I have cycled from East Kilbride to Glasgow (9 miles) to work and its sets me up for the day. In Sept, I cycled from Glasgow to Edinburgh in the rain (50 miles) - a brilliant achievement. But I whilst I was cycling during the down pour - I kept saying depression is not going to beat me - I am continuing to fight it. ( Now I have been diagnosis with SAD not depression it helps a little)
