If you could eliminate just one symptom of SAD what would it be? What is the worst part of having SAD for you.

Without a doubt mine is the debilitating tiredness. I would love to just get up after a nights sleep and feel refreshed. Be able to go to work, come home and not have to crash out on the sofa.

Feeling tired for me, also! I honestly think that if I wasn't so tired a lot of my other problems would either go away or be easier to manage!

Looks like we have a hat-trick. I find that being so tired affects the whole family, not just one person.

I would also definitely get rid of the anxiety. Maybe then I could unstitch my stomach and eat something!

So there you go, you are not that different Paulst.

Look forward to hearing how you got on at the docs.

Fatigue for me as well and the inability to concentrate. I've got loads of emails and things at home that I ought to be dealing with and I just can't get on with them.

Anxiety for me - if that went then I think I could sleep better and then the tiredness would go perhaps?

I can't pin anything down. I just wish it would all go away. If its between fatigue and anxiety, then its the anxiety.

Anxiety for me - especially when it makes me cry uncontrollably when I'm in the supermarket or walking down the street!

Yeh I only wish that I could learn to cry like women in the movies so it doesn't look so bad! Instead I sob so much that I get the hiccups and old women come up to me in the street to ask me if I'm ok!

Oh yes, that sounds so familiar.

I have taken to wearing sunglasses (even when it's raining!) so that no one can see my puffy eyes, but the red nose and snot tends to give it away anyway!

I was so teary I blurred my vision whilst driving and hit two curbs - HOW BAD IS THAT....

I left work early AGAIN and managed to ride my horse this afternoon though - and she challenged me all the way but made me smile if only for a moment. We cantered into the sun at 2:30 and I couldn't see a thing it was so bright and just let her lead the way! I still cried when I got home and was horrible to my boyfriend and now in my PJ's feeling awful - the tension between my sholder blades is intense.... :-(

Am I the only one who doesnt get bad anxiety? I dont have time to think too much about things, and just do them. I do then think that the whole world hates me, then push the self destruct button.

Also having a few chats online, am I the only one that eats tons more junk food when Im bad - to lift my mood, then my mood dumps with more tiredness and the cycle begins again. I thought that was a typical SAD trait!

Am I being paranoid again? oh dear.

No Me, I eat tonnes of junk food also when I am feeling bad.

I do feel that I am on a mission of self destruct during my SAD period

I'd lose the anxiety - but to be honest, if I did that - there wouldn't be much SAD left, so I guess I'm very lucky. All I get at the moment it seems is a week of anxiety in October time. Having said that I'll probably be depressed without really realizing it come Feb (as was the case last winter).

Put your paranoia back in the box ME xxx

I am not especially anxious, but am very tired, lethagic, grumpy (very!) and I do over eat crud - crisps and chocolate are the worst for me.

I have a craving for dark chocolate, crisps and potatoes at the moment.

Last night was the first night I had eaten properly in a fortnight so maybe that's a good sign?

thanks piglet

I dont know how to tell you this - but my craving at the moment is for Bacon sandwiches (sorry) and anything with sugar in.

My doctor took me off Prozac, said that I didnt need them after all. 5 days later, Im now feeling pretty flat again. Food intake increased 3 fold, and making more excuses about not doing exercise. I even turned up for a class on the wrong day, so I know Im getting forgetful again too.

My last messages here indicate that my paranoia must coming back too

Told my husband that our lifes are just totally uncompatible this morning - not nastily just seriously.

Think I need to restart my tablets, before I start crying again and start my self destruct routine.

Im fine, just concerned, I dont want to go back again.

hugs>>, ME, it sounds like you need to go back to your GP or find someone similar to talk to about how you feel.

Don't make rash decisions about your relationship, I've destructed a number of relationships over this time of year as I've been absolutely convinced that they are "bad", I now realise it's not the relationship that is "bad" it's just my mind.

Try to keep it all together, please go back and see your GP.

Let us know how the day goes won't you? xxx

Ok flower.
She said that if I get low again, to start them off again. Im not depressed yet, but so low!!!

Keep thinking that I will be ok and its all in the mind, but I know deep down what its all about. Just got to resign myself to taking them again.

And thats difficult until you reach rock bottom, because my natural reaction is that I can deal with it.

Just read back all the messages that I have left on this forum. Gosh I can tell which ones I wrote when I was on Prozac. I think it was an eye opener I needed.

Need to get myself together, Going to start Prozac again - good idea.

Am going to revisit the doctor in a weeks time anyway, so at least shes keeping her beady eye on me.

Let you know how I get on.
hugs back to you.

I felt better able to cope. I felt totally level headed as upposed to up and down. I felt more sensitive to peoples feelings. I also ate less, and exercised more. Cant think of any bad comments.

When I took prozac, I felt really good, except, I just couldnt get to sleep, no matter how hard I tried, I just couldnt switch off. But just for improving mood, I think they are excellent, in fact if it wasnt for the sleep problems, I would be taking them now.

Prozac has been great for me,although it took a good couple of months before I noticed any difference.I was initially on paroxatine-which was a real disaster;got a load of bad side effects with it-including sexual dysfunction-which made me more depressed!Happy to say I've suffered no side effects with Prozac apart from a bit of weight loss initially-which was wellcome!
