Whilst in front of my light box this morning, I read an article in a mag about St Johns Wort and Passion Flower combination tablet which is supposed to help for depression and anxiety available from revital.co.uk

I know that you shouldnt use ST Johns Wort with lightbox though.

To ward of the winter waist it also suggests recipes including thick winter soups such as butternut squash and pumpkin. brown carbohydrates which are low in calories, high in fibre and sustain energy. for recipes visit iminseason.co.uk

If only I felt like cooking.

I like to make nice thick soup in the winter. WIth a loaf of good bread it makes something that we all enjoy and it's easy to do.

Well ive only gone and done it

Homemade veg soup and wholemeal homemade bread). Not without drama of course.
Put the flour in the breadmixer not the bowl. Emptied it out best I could, then blew the remainder out cause it was stuck. Ended up with a white face, which i took with me to pick up the kids. Oh dear.

I reckon I must be the real Slummy Mummy.

Kids not looking forward to it, but hey, at least they will be healthy.

Just waiting for the smoke alarm to go off to muster the kids.

Suzie, that recipe would be great.

Is St Johns Wort available in chemists? Furthermore has anyone experienced side effects with it?

It's available in health food stores Kirk. I tried it years ago but can't remember if I had any side effects. It just didn't seem to do the job for me.

SJW works for me, although some people say that you have to take it for a few weeks before they notice anything. Just makes my eyes more sensitive to light.

My veg soup was a success, the kids loved it, just gonna force it down hubby now!

A bit too long in preparation to add to recipe list, although i do have a good salmon recipe with no washing up - if I can dig it out.

I just read the bit about putting the flour straight into the breadmaker, not the pan! That is soooooo the sort of thing I would do!

My kitchen may be almost functional by the time I get home tomorrow, can't wait to make soup!
