For years I've worn shades, especially when driving. Now I find whenever it's sunny I want to look straight at the brightness.I love it if I'm stuck in traffic and the sun's shinning in my face!

I always wore sunglasses, especially when driving, winter and summer. Who wants wrinkles from screwing up their eyes?

Since the formal diagnosis of SAD I have made a big effort to manage without them October to March, unless it's really bright.

I had transitions lenses in my eyeglasses. When I went outside, the lenses darkened... lightened again as I went indoors.

My eyes are so sensitive to brightness... can't see when sunlight reflects off the snow, or in very bright slanting light...

I had to ditch the photo-sensitive lenses. Those years that I had those glasses were my absolute WORST SAD years I've ever had. I think they were the years I was barely making it into bed whenever I got home from work and was crying from the frustration... and fear of how I was feeling.

Fortunately, after a rough start this year, I'm feeling pretty emotionally "level." I really won't go back to photo-sensitive lenses, tho!
