Hi,
Does anyone know if there are any supplements that are good for SAD? I think I heard somewhere that B vitamins are good but I don't know why.

Hi Nicky,
I have purchased for my daughter PuraEpa from mind1st. There is a website for this. It was mentioned by some one on the SADA newsletter and there are also some very interesting accounts of peoples experiences when using this.Might be worth having a look at the website. We are giving it a go.

Hi there,

Look a few pages back and you will find a topic called Nutrition Info. I've written about supplements there.

It's important to remember that these things work in synergy with each other and the body. Often it's a combination of many things that helps a person to health, including -- and crucially -- a good diet which is high in fruit and vegetables and which eliminates most or all processed foods. Unfortunately there is rarely a magic-bullet solution.

I won't repeat what I've said in Nutrition Info; but if you decide to read it and have some questions, feel free to ask :)

Best wishes,
Linda.

I'm so glad to be in my new kitchen with a proper oven etc etc! Space to move and cook. It has been so hard being in the temporary kitchen. If you're used to cooking from scratch most of the time, you miss it. i guess if you like convenience food you wouldn't!

I made home made pizza last night, much to my son's delight. He baked for his music class today and the kids at the morris dance group tonight. It makes me feel like a good mother equipping him with skills like this.

My dd has a lot of affluent kids in her class. They don't want fancy gifts from her... she couldn't compete in that league any way.... they ask her to bring some home baking on their birthdays. She doesn't expect me to do it for her either. She's often been baking cakes at 10.30 at night!

Last Christmas, the German class got a gingerbread house (absolutely beautiful) and the Spanish class got a chocolate swiss roll in the shape of a bull (imaginative!!!!)

I digress... the thread is nutrition....

Thanks for your comments. Mozy, will look up PuraEpa, will have a look on the SADA newsletter as I've just joined. Will check out the website too.

Linda, I've just looked at the nutrition thread, wow, you have done a lot of research! Very interesting, thanks, will need longer to read through it properly . I have made an effort lately to avoid processed foods, but I know I should eat more fruit and veg and cut down on the carbs.
