Hi all, I'm trying to write an informative feature to alert students to the occurrence of SAD. As a mild sufferer myself I'm keen to increase awarenesss of the disorder, especially in a group that is quite vulnerable. I'd love it if anyone wants to share their experience with me, just a comment left here would be great; and if you're a student yourself, even better!

Thanks so much for your time.

Hi yes i would be willing to share my experience, If it would help other people or even help those non-sufferers to understand, I willing to give it a go, but I would like to remain annonymous.

hey huggybear, that is great thank you so much for offering to help. the idea of the piece is to raise awareness of SAD in the student population, to help those that might be suffering unknowingly. i'd really apprciate your insight, which of course would be anonymous. you can send an email to avnesbitt@googlemail.com if that's easier. just a few sentences on how SAD makes you feel, how you came to diagnosis and what you do to cope. anything along those lines really. thanks again, i really appreciate it. i can also let you know where the story will be if you want to see the piece after. hopefully speak soon.

There are lots of my posts on the forum and you are welcome to use any of them if they help you. It's difficult to just post something useful on request though!

Hey all, thanks for all your replies. Thanks also for suggesting I can use stuff you have already written, that should be prove to be very useful. Kaz I would love for you to write something if you don't mind, you could email it to the address above if that's easier. Let me try and explain the format a litte better. The piece is in a standard magazine format aimed at student readers,18-24 ish years, although it should also be informative to anyone who happened to pick it up. The idea of it is to help sufferers identify themselves and educate others. If you imagine a normal women's magazine article the story will be peppered with quotes that support the information. This is what I'm looking for. So the quote could be as simple as 'I couldn't get out of bed - it wasn't like me' or 'I used to go out loads at university and all of a sudden I couldn't be bothered anymore'. Not that I want to suppose your expereinces! You could write as little or as much as yo ulike but, for example, if you sent me 100 words of a very geberal overview of living with SAD I could take smaller quotes from it.

Hope this makes sense, I really really appreciate your input. Will definitely go and read throught the site. Anna
