i noticed when i am out in the summer and i feel the warmth of the sun it lifts your mood more than just the light of the sun in winter .does anyone think that uv rays alter chemical balance to make you feel better.

The sun is stronger and warmer in the summer, The light level is usually much higher so it helps you to feel better.

You are so lucky having a glass of wine, my doc told me I should avoid alcohol grr. I have to admit to drinking the odd glass though.

I have to admit to my sins paul, but i really prefer a relaxing ciggie to wine, but i`m cutting down specially now i got my lamp, i know a lot of people huff and puff about things like that, but at least i just relax and can remember everything what I`ve done, the amount of times I`ve gone out and struggled to remember how we got home well to many to remember(or embarrased, lol)

Actually lovethesun,hi by the way, I have been thinking about your comment and I really do think being in the warmth makes me feel better, the ray probably do help, cos i always feel i look better having a bit of colour on my skin, so i feel a bit happier., I am treating myself at the moment to 10 mins of sunbed a week, to get a bit of colour but also for works xmas meal, I don`t want the turkey to have a better tan than me!!!!!

I hope I havn`t offended anyoe with my last but one post, I don`t condone the use of drugs but it helps me, as i hope you can all understand, when u get so low u will try anything and beleive me I have, not a lot i`m proud of but the way I see it, if i can help anyone by learning from the mistakes have i have made and will probably continue to make it will be worth it, so I freely admit to my wrong doings and admit when i`ve been wrong, which has also happened lots and lots of times!!!, but my real mates accept that(thank god) but none of us are perfect, and I only have one life so i try to take the right way.As long as i don`t hurt people in the process alls good.
Sumtimes I look back on what i`ve written and embarrass myself, i`m sure i`m a freak!!!!!!!!

Hey huggybear

think its definitely a symptom of SAD to feel like a freak for no apparent reason! I agree with Paul - there's nothing wrong with your post.

I wish I could have someone walk around with me and tell me all the time when what I say sounds OK or not. Better yet, someone to stop me when I'm about to say something stupid.

So many times, I kick myself for what I've said... but maybe it's just my PERCEPTION of what I said or my own personal SAD-colored interpretation of how it may have sounded.

OK, I'm going to stop now when I still believe what I said made some sort of sense.

Hi Amalthea, I often think im talking nonsense at this time of the year, but its just sad rearing its ugly head and telling us we are stupid, even when we are talking sense (I think).
