I think cold effects SAD too, not just sunlight. It seems our defective bodies take several cues from our environment, just like animals do to shed or grow winter coats or hypernate. Animals will shed at the wrong time of year if there is a warm streak in winter and stay in hibernation longer if there is a cold streak even though the sun and time of year says spring.
