I realize this is the ultimate newbie question, but please bear with me. :P

Basically, I'm not really bothered (I don't think) with the lightbox therapy business.

What I'm really interested in is the dawn simulation on the alarm clock function. Does this really work more effectively than a regular alarm? Obviously, if you go to bed at three in the morning or something, it probably wouldn't make a difference; but I would like to know if people have generally had more positive waking-up experiences using this type of clock.

Thankyou! :p

I use my dawn simulator every day and think it really does help. If its a choice between slowly waking up in a nice bright room, or waking up in the dark to a noisy alarm clock, the light wins every time.

I got mine this spring and only started to use it in earnest in September when I went back to work with the new term. I love it. I almost feel human when I wake up, not usually groggy at all.

I love my dawn simulator & now use it all year round! It gently wakes me up & Im normally awake before the back up alarm rings. So now I wake up in an alright mood instead of getting the horrible fright when my normal alarm goes off & being in a foul mood for most of the morning!!

I love mine and as Purpleivy says it makes me feel more alive, less groggy and headachey than I did previously.

I guess though it depends why you're using one though? I always felt like I was being dragged into conciousness when the alarm went off so it's great for me.

I do still use the buzzy alarm though, I just set the dawn simulator to get to its brightest point before the alarm goes off - it's my little alarm with a big snooze button!

I'm interested in what you're all saying coz I'm thinking of asking for Lumie light for my Christmas present if Santa thinks i've been good (which is surely dumb of him coz i never am).

I wake early in any event normally around 5 or at thelatest 6 ... but I love light and if these things are a bit special well I'd like to give it a go ..

They are expensive ... is is just an extravagance for someone who wakes up easily? ( That having said I can wake up in the winter feeling the pits - worst time for me is around clock change end october) ... have a good day all

Hi, have been using my lumie light now for approximately 2 weeks and I just feel absolutely great. Lots more energy, enthusiasm for life and just generally feeling good about life again, rather than crawling through each day. Would really recommend trying at least the Bodyclock Sunray to start with. Good luck and thank you Lumie, I'm definately a convert. Veronica

I suffer terribly in the winter months; and struggle to get out of bed in the morning for work. It is an ordeal; and can make me dread bedtimes. Is it worth considering buying a Lumie alarm clock; and which one is the best.I would appreciate some advice. Thanks. I must have hibernated in a previous existence...
