Has anyone had any luck with a full-spectrum desk lamp? It wouldn't have the lux that the SAD light does, but maybe it might help get me through the workday. I feel absolutely wiped out.

Anyone? Thanks!

Yes, I have a desklamp, and it does have the highest lux, equivilent to a lightbox. It made a big difference w/in days of using it, mainly w/ energy and getting my sleep more regular. It was $100-300 cheaper than other lightboxes too, and its discreet enough to keep in my kitchen above where I use my laptop. It has a flexible neck to get the angle just right and a dimmer switch.

Oh, you are in the States, right? Here's the part you may like the most, I ordered it from Michigan since the Canadian models were too expensive. Bought and Shipped it to Canada for under $200.

Can you tell me who makes it? I want something that looks just like a regular desk lamp.

I wonder if the brightness would call attention to me at work. I work at the front desk, and don't want to tell everyone who comes in about the lamp. I haven't told my co-workers directly that I have SAD, except for my boss.

It doesn't help you in the US but I have the Lumie Tasklight that you'll find on this site. I have it on my desk at work and whilst it is brighter than a normal light and I am upfront that it's effectively a lightbox, it is much less obvious than having a normal lightbox.

Full Spectrum Solutions in Michigan makes it. Hope the site doesn't mind me saying that since you are in the States and all.
