Am looking into which box to get and heres what i want.
A powerful light box that can give treatment in 20 minutes to suit being on the go,
it has to be portable so i can move it from room to room,
Also would like it to be used as a dawn simulator as well.
So basically when i wake up i can lie there in bed get close enough and get my 20 minutes dose and be woken in a nice way.
Oh and if it could play summer sounds for those moments where i want to switch off and think of summer days, you know bird sounds, waves on a beach.
A real therpy session sometimes not to mention when those dark mornings are here i can lie in bed getting in the right mind set and skip to work (which is a 14 hour shift!!!)

Oh and can anyone tell me if the LED lights have the same effect as bulbs?

I find that my lamp with LEDs has a better effect than bulbs, they're very bright

Welcome to the site Pilgrim.

I have the visor (LED) from the Lumie site as well as the task light and I think that I find the visor is more effective but it may be because it is easier to get close to it and I don't sit close enough to the lightbox. I use my visor lying in bed first thing in the morning.

As for your other wishes - I've got a separate dawn simulator which is fantastic and makes waking up so much easier and more pleasant.

I've got a separate CD player (think you might be able to get one with a dawn simulator?) and I play a CD by a hypnotherapist friend of mine which helps me to relax and get off to sleep.

The one I have does all that you want except the sounds:

I have an older version but it's basically the same & it works well for me!

Stained Glass Lady, I've got the same light box as you. I love it, but I found the same problem as you, I can't take it anywhere else so end up spending a weekend away without it and suffering. That made me buy a small cheap portable one, just for weekends away. I figured that it doesn't matter too much about the quality if it's just for occasional use. This is the one I bought, but I didn't get it from ebay, I can't remember the website but some googling should find it:

Haven't used it yet so can't say how good it is but it's very handy and portable.

I don't go away for weekends Hubby and I are homebodys. So the light works fine. Getting into a routine with it and it seems to be helping. Slept about 6 hrs last night getting better.
