Me too Paul, this seems to have been the worst winter for me for a long time, because the symptoms started so much earlier than usual, this winter feels like it's going on forever. Does anyone else feel like that?

Are you in the US Stained Glass Lady? I am in the UK and there is no snow here. Some people say SAD is a bit better with snow because it reflects the light (or something like that). Do you find that it helps? It is quite warm here for this time of year, but so grey and dull, I think I'd prefer snow!

I am in Ontario Canada but the US is about 2 miles away from me. I do find that the snow helps a bit. I still like the spring summer and early fall.

I've heard that SAD is very common in Canada. I have relatives there and they all have depression, two of them have SAD. Seems I got my wish about the weather, it's forecast to snow tomorrow, brrrr!

West of Manchester is like that too Paul! I have to go and sort out the recycle-paper bin etc..... windy here too!

My parents have just invited my MIL to my sis's place in Tobago with them next month! It's not fair!

Never mind.... doing therapeutic stuff.... clearing stuff out and got my nice big pot of easy peasy lamb hotpot on the cooker. Smells fab!

I thought the days were supposed to be getting longer. Im sure its darker in the mornings. Before the end of term, my son was going to school in the (just about) daytime. If he had gone this week, it would have been dark - even on a nice day. Very strange.

Gonna be bad here tomorrow, so bracing myself for the very worst weather

If you take a look at this it will calculate how many daylight hours there are. It went down to about 7 h 30 mins and is now up to about 7h35. I know that one end of the day keeps getting shorter for a while , can't remember which... need to check on exact times for that.

I have been checking how much more daylight there is in Nice, was thinking I might go. It's 1h30 mins at the moment. Checked the weather forecast, but it's snow... which in Nice will probably end up being slushy and over cast. Last year went mid Jan and the weather was fab, will just have to keep an eye on it.

The days are suppose to get longer but until the time changes in march you won't see the difference that much.

Me, I think you're right, it's supposed to begetting lighter in the evenings very slowly but definitely seems darker in the mornings recently. Today I left the house at 8.30 and it was only just getting light. Bracing myself for the snow tomorrow, actually quite looking forward to it, I usually feel ok on snowy days.

It's poo, isn't it!

My sis WAS born somewhere else! She was born in TObago when my parents went to work, I was born before they went and my bro after we came home. COnsequently she is a dual passport holder and eligible to live there as much and as often as she likes! Having worked there for a year, she has decided she likes it and has built a property there with her partner.

Just checked... sun rise about 6 and sets about 6 as well. Better quality of light as well. Went there 2 years ago for Christmas and felt marvellous!

Are you in Edinburgh then? I thought you were Aberdeen, Don't know why. My dd has her summer music course there this year, All I can say is 'Edinburgh beware!'. Actually they are a very good group of young peeps.
