That's all, not in floods of tears as sometimes, but very low in motivation. Have only been out of the house when absolutely necessary since before Christmas. Work (only work 2 days per week, had a day off sick and a day off as not needed for staff training), food shopping (I think 4 times) running kids to music or whatever.

Fed up really, as I was doing so well this winter.

Hey PurpleIvy I'm so sorry you're feeling so low - especially as you've been so supportive and positive for everyone else this whole winter!!!!

Take care of yourself honey and remember that spring is not to far away.

Unfortunately, I’m in the same boat – particularly unmotivated. I’ve barely been out since Christmas either, and cannot face returning to college yet.

On the plus side, we both know that things will start to improve soon.

Hang in there and take care.

Purpleivy ... I didn't realise you were feeling so low.

You do have a busy life - it sounds a lot of fun at times - but it may be that you're tiring after the buildup to Christmas (which in itself can be an emotional rollercoaster - as well as being an upheaval in routine and finances).

Take some time out just for yourself. Sending an e-hug, Ax

I was gonna say the same thing as Aaron.

We just dont realise that kids and work, take all our energy. It takes our mood and time to realise that we are not doing things (like a special hobby) that we want to do. Our mood then keeps us low and unmotivated.

I suppose I need to force motivation upon myself in order for motivation to blossom. Take the bull by the horns and try it - no excuses chuck, youve got nothing to lose.

At this time, we need to fight the brain and try to join in a club. Exercise is brilliant, go for a lovely walk, take up Yoga or something you really enjoy - perhaps a massage for something. It will make you feel better. Having time for yourself is the best thing you can do to give you a lift.

You are a special person PI, dont lose sight of that, you need special treats too.

Oh gosh, dont I go on. Just want you to feel better flower.

Hope it helps

Me x

Hi mate sorry you are feeling so low...

We really need to get together for a chat next week.

Unfortunately I am feeling the same. I have to go to work 5 days and if I didn't go to work I wouldn't go out at all. But I know this is my worst time so I guess I knew it was coming.

Take care and hope to see you soon

Sending you lots of hugs xxx

Thanks all for caring and your good wishes.

Weather hasn't been great today, fellas working on the new drive, but it rained for a lot of the day.

I went to work for 2 1/2 hours and sat the whole time with nobody needing me. Still, at least I get paid for it. And I didn't have to cook!

After I wrote the message last night the tears came, but am OK tonight.

I might get away overnight next week. Mum is due to have her hand op. She hasn't asked me to go over, but I might go any way. Friend still having trouble with her dd and rather isolated where she is, so might go and see her too, she could do with some company I think. Will have to see how I'm feeling.

I'm seeing the doc tomorrow. Don't know how that will go.

PurpleIvy, so sorry to hear you're having a tough time. It does sound like you have a busy life. Be sure to take time to do something special for yourself... 'cause you deserve it! Sometimes I find that's really what I need as a "pick-me-up" -- to take the time to do something I really enjoy.

I'd like to say that I'm glad you're here with us. You've been a big help to me, personally, and I'm sure a lot of others feel the same.

Thinking of you.

*hugs*!

Hi PurpleIvy,

I totally understand how you and some of you others are feeling. I too have been feeling low and unmotivated especially after fracturing my toe and not being able to run which I feel really helps. Also my carb cravings are big and my wasteline is expanding! I feel I need a holiday and kinda don't want anything to do with my friends or partner. Its certainly is SAD!!!! Yes good luck at the Doctors xxx

Purpleivy - I've escaped to France for the weekend. Probably colder than UK but a little more daylight and at better time than UK. Great fish soup and patisserie everywhere .. x

Purpleivy - no not quite Cote d'Azur. Further west - between Avignon and Nimes.

It was a treat because my health has only just cleared up enough to travel. The weather was bright and mild for those few days, and the sun brought out freckles!

Yep - fish soup amazing.

Hope this finds you well .. x

Glad you had a good time. Freckles? How cute! My DH has just booked to go to my aunt's flat in Nice with his walking buddies.... in June! No thanks! I did look at going last week or the week before but the weather wasn't that good , so not worth it. My doc would have signed me off work as I wasn't that good.

I'm picking up again, whereas a couple of weeks ago i was sitting here looking at the trees lashing around in the dark windy weather, I can see them quite clearly now and there might even be a bit of blue sky. THe SAD map is clearing day by day.

I'm starting to feel better, fewer fragile moments.

Thanks everyone for your kind support when the going was so tough.

Yes, freckles. I haven't seen them for years - I think it is the repair of the immune system.

There is a confident brightness in the spring weather that brings certain relief.

Have a good day :-)

Well, the day was as good as it could be.... I went on a Driver Speed Awareness course... penance for a minor speeding offence last autumn. Morning in a classroom and afternoon driving round in the sun, or at least to start with it was sunny.

Clients in tomorrow and Friday. No smart@rse remarks OBE please.

Feeling low again, staying off work today. First time this winter.

I think the main reason is that there has simply been too much happening and I haven't had any quiet time.

Ivy, Take care of yourself. Make sure you get what pampering you owe to yourself, today. Hopefully you'll feel better, quicker.

I'm struggling today as well... had the night-sweats last night and the allergic rash. I barely slept. Hot shower first thing this AM and then a good heating pad treatment to fend off the fibromyalgia, and some hot tea to help me make it through my day. And my SAD light is on, of course.

Good luck, and take care!

Wow, I got pounded at work... tons of stress, lots to do... The amazing thing is, I got more done than I thought I could!

A friend of mine was really upset because her friend may be seriously ill... they're waiting for testing. I will be praying that all is well... I'm really shook up about it. I went out for a sushi dinner, just to try to soothe my nerves. It did help... I do hope everything turns out OK with her friend.
