At this time of the year I can feel a marked improvement (apart from the blip when you stop the AD's). I also seem to get a boost of energy and I know exactly when it happens because people always ask me if I have just been on holiday (chance would be afine thing) as I seem to get a tanned complexion as though I have been in the sun. Does any one else experience similar symptoms?

No dont get the tanned complexion.

I am pretty pale looking and most people can tell during the winter. This time of the year my skin tends to look healthier and my eyes look brighter and most people mention that I look well.

Enjoy the spring

I think Devon must be darker than Dorset as it wasn't till after I moved from Swanange to Devon that I started to suffer from the effects of SAD.I have probably had it all my life but it has seemed to get worse as I grew older

Maybe you spend more time indoors in Devon due to new job or have new hobbies which involve less natural light.

Just an idea!

The only possible way I get color is to leave and actually go some where warm and sunny. I never knew I had SAD until I moved to the UK. Where the sun rarely shines and the weather is dreary all the time. This is suppose to be spring, but the it always rains and it is cold and SAD here....

How to people cope living in the UK? I love everything else but this weather. What do I do so I feel better?

Hi Cricket, where did you move from? The weather in the UK leaves a lot to be desired I'm afraid, although we had some great weather this weekend. I cope by using a light box every morning in the winter and trying to get outdoors as much as possible and plenty of exercise. Do you have a light box? I'm still using it at the moment, unless the we have a particularly sunny day. Hopefully we'll have some good weather soon.
