Ive got that October Feeling again!

Totally fed up with the world and cant be bothered to stick to all my routines.

My leisure centre is shut up so I cant do my normal exercise routine and Ive just realised that I had stopped taking my omegas and vits(something I naturally tend to forget about when Im well). So my sociallising has gone out the window too - people are such hard work at this time of year.

Just want to plonk myself down all day long and think about how \Im going to plan the rest of my day. However, I might come round about teatime and find it impossible to complete it all.

Ive realised Ive started eating wheat and sugar again when i looked in the mirror and realise Id put on that stone again!

So .... its October again! and I need to kick myself up the bum and get on with my health routine.

In the meantime if anyone out there has any stories to make me and others smile .... then fire away.... Im ready... CALL IT THERAPY ...lol

thanks

Me x

I had such a very bad night last night! Sad returned big time! I too need some therapy! Feeling better today, watch the great north run wishing I was running too. So inspired by others. Here we go again Me. We all need to support each other once again.
Take care sweetie x

I'm alot better now the SJW is kicking in but it's not the same as being my happy go lucky self.
I'm too tired to write anything constructive but i'll post something tomorrow, just thought i'd let you know i'm thinking of you.

Hello, Have plucked up the courage to register - first internet chat type site I've ever actually registered on! I have been reading with lots of interest everyone's messages over the past 2 weeks.

I have suffered with SAD since I was 19, I am now 35, and was diagnosed around 3 years ago. It is absolutely awful and you have all been a lifeline to me - knowing you are all out there and I am not going mad.

Anyway, something funny .... the other day I chatted to a friend who has SAD we laughed about how much one antidepressant made us yawn. Everytime my husband looked at me I turned around and yawned - it was uncontrollable!! We often laugh about those days. Has anyone else experienced this? I no longer take anti-ds, found they made me worse. I often giggle about the yawning - although it was no laughing matter at the time.

Hi!! I have just found this forum today after feeling really fed up. (The sun went in). It's good to read these and know I'm not alone. I think for people that don't have it, it's hard to understand the sudden switch. Hopefully I can make myself and maybe others feel better in here. xx

Hi ya guys
Thanks for the response (Yawn!) lol!

Its good to remember that there are more of us out there. Its great to chat people who know exactly what we are talking about and are not overly judgemental!

For those of you who responded and have just joined this site - welcome. Im sorry i was so fed up earlier, but maybe that it just what gave you the courage to join us - so welcome again. You will find that we too find this a lifeline during the winter time. Its good to know you are not alone.

OBE, great to hear from you again - I will be fine, just started my health routine again - so hopefully will feel a little better.

Our rabbit died today, so spent quite a bit of the morning with tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. He lived with us in the house (yes he was toilet trainined.) So spent most the the day sorting out his stuff and supporting the kids.

Other than that am feeling a bit better today, gonna get an early night.

Take care (yawn!) lol

Hi Me,

Sorry to hear about your Rabbit. I have always wanted a house rabbit. I too have started and exercise routine and healthy eating. Do you find anything in particular that works? Any hints are always appreciated. xx

Hi ya Steeleshell

I have often spoken about my routines, so for those that have read them before 'put your hand over your eyes now! LOL)...

I take Omega 3 (cold liver oil - helps my brain so that I can finish the end of a sentence, and remember my mates names!!!) omega 6 (primrose oil - help with my moods!). Multi vits sometimes in tonic form if I am really bad because it seems to be absorbed easier somehow!

In my cupboard I have St Johns Wort (which I take if Im feeling quite low and weepy).

Also in my cupboard I have 5htp which I take in emergencies when I feel at rock bottom and cant be bothered with anything - you know when I struggle to get motivated and find it hard to get the kids to school. (not to be taken with some other medications!)

I try to exercise most days. Sometimes weight training to music, sometimes aerobic, or could be yoga, pilates or a really energetic housework/gardening day. Or perhaps a good ole fashioned walk. If I exercise in the morning I usually find it easier to cope with the rest of the day. Exercise helps with my mood, brain function and forces me to socialise!

If I get sleepy after lunch I go through a period of time (a few months) where I do not eat wheat and sugar - because I find they sometimes affect me this way. If I do this, I also can lose a stone in weight in 2 or 3 weeks! So that can help me with my self worth.

I try to get to places where I socialise but this is hard when Im bad as I really feel everyone doesnt like me. I just try to rethink my thinking as Im doing it to help me get through it.

I have a lightbox which I use occasionally, however with three young kids I found that I didnt have the time to sit down long enough twice a day to get the benefit.

I have a dawn simulator - love that - its like waking up to daytime everyday. Dont know how Id cope without it now!

Oh, and chatting on this site always helps. Its good to let off some steam when Im bad or support others when Im feeling well.

Thats thats it.

In the summertime though I am great and feel fantastic and can be a touch hyper and enthusiatic!!!!! lol.
Wintertime reveals a different me. The above helps quite a lot, but I still fall back from time to time.

I hope this has helped, others have different ideas too, so its good to read a number of threads and grab what you think will suit yourself.

Its also good to have a supportive doc. Just knowing they are there to catch you is a great help in itself, even if you do or dont take prescribed medication.

Take care Steeleshell, Hope this has helped.
