I'm moving into a room with no windows, and I'm looking for suggestions of products that could make this more bearable. I was thinking one of the sunrise alarm clocks. Anything else I should get? Thanks!
The sunrise alarm clock will make it easier to get up in the morning - ie like it is a summer morning not a dark winter morning. It will not help you working in a dark room.
I imagine you would be better off with a light box, or perhaps a certain type of daylight bulb/s in the room. Unfortunately, mine is an older and bigger portable version. I think you can get some smaller ones these days which some people use on desks.
Have a chat with the lovely people at Lumie or/and search through the internet and ask the same questions to the manufacturers. Then come back and ask us who has one here and what we think of them. There is a lovely picture of a 'brightspark' at the top of this page which looks good. Maybe that it the direction you should be moving towards.
The other suggestion if you have SAD is to tell your employer your difficulties and perhaps they can assist some how. A confirmation note from the doctor may help! It might help if you have a law abiding helpful employer!
I personally would not find it possible to work in such an environment. I would delve into a bad depression and sleep endlessly!
I take it you mean you're moving into a bedroom with no windows?? Can I ask why on earth if you have SAD??? I wouldn't even consider living in a house or flat that didn't have at least one window in all of the rooms! :o)
I have a bodyclock alarm clock (the Sunray 100) and I find that it is brilliant for waking me up feeling happy in the morning. There is nothing worse than waking up in a dark room. Buy one, it will be the best £60 you ever spent! :o)
