Trying to work out the feasibility of making a lightbox. Has anyone tried this? Someone must have done. Want to try and make a really high index lux lightbox to 'brighten' up a 12x12 ft room. It seems quite difficult to find out which light bulbs/tubes the professional ones use (from the internet) - and I'd rather not 'reverse-engineer' one after having bought it/rented it for 'ethical' reasons.
Questions:
Best light source? Tubes? Bulbs? Manufacturer? etc etc
Electronic ballast?
Any advice and all advice appreciated!
Based in the UK so UK-sourceable hardware would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I have been thinking of trying to make a small device rather than pay £200 for what seems to me to consist of an ordinary flourescent light fitting with a plastic diffuser.
I came across this site: http://www.sadbox.co.uk/daystar.htm
They seem to sell tubes of the spec used for lightboxes etc.
Interesting - haven't tried to make one, but having purchased one and seen what it consists of, I shall be making the next one myself. I thought I read somewhere that UV is not needed to treat SAD and it's harmful to eyes + skin so I'd want to be careful with my choice of tubes. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
