I ask because the only time I'm one place for a long time is by my computer. I've never been able to establish a really consistent routine over a whole winter and keeping it by my comp is probably my best chance. I can barely read the screen with 10000 lux, even with the brightness turned up to max. My lightbox has two settings, one of which is 2500. So I'm trying it out but wondering how long I really need to have it going for, and whether it will be as effective anyway. Does anyone else keep a low-level light on for a few hours?

Another question for those who have used both 'box' lightboxes and 'desk lamp' styles by their comp - does the latter make reading the screen any easier?

Hi Lorraine, nice to see you back, but sorry you have to be!!

Try seriously pumping up the light in the rest of the room/office whilst using your pc and lightbox, you will find that you can then read your screen, or at least there is a strong chance. I have a 10K Satellite which is not adjustable to 2500 lux, so have no experience at that power. Even one uplighter by your desk would make a heap of difference.

However, this is the blurb about the Sunray which OutsideIn sell:
Sunray-Day 2,500 lux at 68cm. - lower level light takes longer to use.
Typically requires 105 - 135 minutes use.

That might be the answer you are looking for... :)
