Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh

When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest, you must - but don't you quit
Life is queer with its twists and turns
As everyone of us sometimes learns

And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow
You might succeed with another blow

Success is failure turned inside out, the silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst, That you MUST NOT QUIT!

One of my favourites, had this bought me some years ago when I was trying to sell my house. It was printed on a post card which I framed and had on my window sill until the house finally sold some 3 and a bit years later (yes over 3 years on the market). The friend that bought it for me in my many hours of need and desperation is sadly no longer with us and he never got to hear me tell him that I had sold my property. The frame is currently packed as we are renting and waiting to find somewhere worthy of our money, thanks for posting this reminder not to quit as I miss seeing it but really don't want to unpack and hunt for it. -x-
