Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I haven't been officially diagnosed with SAD by a medical professional, but I'm sure I have it. I've had problems with winter for years, and have a terrible time from about November through end February or March (depending on how sunny it is). Really can't stand it anymore, so am trying to take some actions.
Just ordered a lightbox, quite expensive but worth it if it actually helps.
Try to get outside walking every day it's not raining hard, at least 20-30 minutes.
Just started experimenting with limiting my carbohydrate intake, anyone else do that and find it helps?
I use a lightbox, take regular execise but it has to get my heart pumping and it's best to do an hour at least every other day. I use Prozac to counter the 'hiding away from people', anxiety e.t.c. and i am generally less angry with it as well. Don't over do it, pay someone to do ironing if it is a real chore e.t.c . I don't curb my carbohydrates but have increased my low fat protein foods and have eat more in the day so I eat less fat, and stopped binging in the evenings (most of the time) on sweets and chips e.t.c, hope this is some use, I'm a bit manic today...prozac has kicked in! keep well Siddy.
