Hey... I'm board at the min but I would like you guys to see the village in Cyprus my parents come from there great great ect etc gran parents were one of the first greeks to settle in this village

http://www.mazotos.com/villageview.jpg

but when the ottomans (Turks) took the island off the Greeks there was trouble and afew hundred years latter the crasaders came to help us and took the island back but the island wasn't returned to Greece and the British empire kept it (we wernt complaining) as my parents were born british cizitens they found the perfect oppurtunity to come to live in the UK (I don't understand why).. The Brits gave Cyprus independce and when this happened Turkey found the oppertunity to invade the island again and took 38% which they still have to this very day thank god there were still british bases as they probably would have took it all.... We are from the south part of the island (Greek part) there are currently peace talks to unify the island as it offically enters the EU next month..... In the picture you can see heavy blue background that would be the sea as its a costa village and full of olive trees.... For it to be so green this picture must have been shot winter as in the summer everything drys up apart from palm trees..... you can learn more about this village at www.mazotos.com . But the most beautifull part of this village and probably the whole island is the churchs, theres a population of around 850 max but theres 3 churchs and each church has 2 buildings apart from one of them... there is alot of Brits retired in this village and would be sure to bump into them...... Theres something mystical about the village I get a strange feeling everytime I'm there.... One of the churchs was founded by my Dads great grand dad and it was said he had a dream of an angle visiting him and told him to go visit a place where he will dig under a certain place to find an ancient christian icon of a saint called Agios xenofondos (saint xenofondos) and that he was to bring the icon back to the village and build the church in his name.... When he was telling the villages they classed him as a loony bin and that he should take a long rest.... He didn't listen to them and followed his heart only to return to the village with the ancient icon.... the villagers realised that he was speaking the truth and then got to work with building the church... I just love the attitudes of the villagers I went to visit my grandad the christmas that just went and he was abit under the weather and had a bad cough I causht him sitting in the middle of his courtyard directly in the sun and I asked him why.... he said the doctor prescribed it to him... I was amazed but the next day the 89 year old was back on his moped and in the fields picking mushrooms to sell once again....

heres the church

this pic was actully taken from our house I don't know how the hell they took it without are permission especially with 10 foot gates surrounding the house and what it was doing on the net but what the hey?..........

Hope this interests you guys...

You know its not as hard as you think..... Its a dream of mine too, to end up there one day but I would have to do the national services (army) unless I get marrid and have 3 kids then I'm exempt so ontill then I'm stuck in the UK. I'm not going to waist two years of my life holding a rifle but with my parents being Greek they wouldn't let me out the coutry if I stayed longer then 3 months unless I did it, even though I was born and raised in the UK......

thats great.......

vlepo pos agapas tin ellatha....

I was just watching on the news many scientist are starting to beleve that Cyprus is the mythical island of Atlantis which plato wrote about, I don't know how they came to this conclusion but apperently they have strong reasons to beleve this and is the best theory....... http://www.discoveryofatlantis.com/articles/welcomecyprus.htm

This would make me an Antlantian and would explain why Larnaca the city my village mazotos belongs to is the only place in the world that celebrate noahs flood as we were proabably the surviors of Atalntis going down as it would have been the next city....
