I'm compiling a book of people's own stories about how they have coped with SAD. I will be looking into getting this published and I think it could be very helpful to people out there struggling to understand their problems. All personal details (names etc) will be changed and no personal information will be passed on to anyone. If you have any personal stories (approx 200 - 500 words) about the topics below that you would be happy for me to include, I would be very grateful if you could send them to me at: sal2612@yahoo.co.uk or reply to this post.
Topics: *Coming to terms with SAD *Symptoms *Treatments *SAD and relationships *SAD in children
I've got a few very good stories from a few people - thatnkyou very much to you guys!
I'm just posting to say that I've added a new category:
*Living with a person with SAD
If any of you can let me know what it's like to live with someone with SAD, how it makes you feel, how they seem to change and how this affects you and anything you have found that you can do to help - please let me know!
Some people have expressed concerns regarding what I'm going to do with people's information.
To anyone who is interested in giving me some stories, please dont include any personal information. I am looking for things that people find helps them through the winter months, for example, some people do Yoga, or get up early to go for a walk in the morning sun.
For things like the relationships section - what I'm looking for is things like: "I use a code word with my boyfriend so that if I just need space I can use the code word and it shows him that he needs to back off and let me do my own thing for a bit - this way we dont get into as many arguments"
