Hi,
I found an IRC chat client that is Java based and can be viewed using a normal web browser.
Im making enquires to get a permanent SAD channel set up in there for people.
In the mean time try: www.superchat.com then type /join #SAD. If I'm around, I will be there under the name Tizzy. If not hopfully others will be joining.
I'll post more details as soon as I get it set up but things look promising :-)
TBH I really need it this time of year, winter really sux :-(

Hi,
Ok forget my last post. You'll need a IRC client. I like the ones at www.mirc.co.uk or www.bersirc.com.
You'll need to set up the server to irc.superchat.org. Then once you connect to the server, join SAD. Do this by typing /join #SAD. That should be it.
If you get stuck, on the mirc or bersirc web pages follow the help links for more information.
If that doesnt help, and your desparate, drop me your phone number by email, I can call you back at a convenient time, to talk you through it.
Hopefully see you in there.
Karl

Hiya,
I'm exploring all the chat options at the moment, takes my mind away from my state of mind :-(
I know some people will be put off by IRC, so I looked for alternatives today. I came up with MSN Messanger. Lots of people have it installed already and its not so difficult to set up as IRC.
I just installed it and found there was a chat groups for Depression available within it. It seems a nice chat room. Some really kind and helpful people in there.
If you have MSN Messenger installed, try this:
1. Select menu Actions then Go To Chat Room
2. Select Health and Medicine on page it opens.
3. Finally select the channel Depression, and ignore the bit about under 16. So long as you behave, they'll let you stay :-)
If Im around, you'll see me in there under the name Tizzeh. If not, chat anyway, they seem a nice bunch.
Take care, and don't suffer alone, I'm finding there are places to go to talk with like minded helpful people :)
Please let me know if you find this hepful or not. If not, I'll continue my search as I want to find something people in this forum are happy with and find helpful.
Cheers,
Karl
P.S. Not long now before it starts getting lighter again, stick in there and we'll be through the worst.

Would appreciate any info on SAD specialists, i live in Lancashire. Any support from people who understand, also welcome. Any tryed and tested product info would be fab. thanks
