I have used the light for one winter. It has let me control my weakness for sweets. When
and how should I quit. Is is spring and Daylight saving time, yet I still need the Therapy. Is it possible to use the Light year round?

Hi,

Its hard to know when to quit. I think we are all different. What I do is come off it this time of year and see how I feel. If I get bad, I go straight back on to light therapy.

You might also try cutting your treatment back slowly, a bit each day. That way you might sense if your ok without totally cutting the light box out.

Hope that helps and take care,

Karl

I agree that everyone is different regarding when to stop. I find that by april, I am forgetting to use it and not noticing. Make sure you spend a decent amount of time in natural daylight (eg on the way home from work etc), as sometimes even in the summer we sometimes dont get enough light if we are cooped up indoors away from windows.

However if you are still getting depressive symptoms after about may, I would recommend seeing a doctor - its usually an indication for me that I need medication. SAD people can sometimes get ordinary year round depression too.
