Hello everyone

I am a 38 year old man and over the last couple of years i have regularly broken out in spots on my forehead. Over the last few months these have started to become larger..almost cyst like.

I have had enough of using face washes, OXY and anti biotics and am wondering if its time to buy myself a Lumie. Does anyone have a similar experience

thanks

i should also say that i have an appointment with the doctor on Friday. The anti biotics did nothing and i plan to ask him if he has heard about light therapy

I'd definitely recommend it. I used to get a few cyst-like spots like the ones you're describing near my hairline and, like yours, they never responded to antibiotics or creams. I have been using the Lumie Clear for over four months now and haven't had a single spot of any kind (including the cyst-like ones) in that time. The marks from the old ones have also faded a lot faster in the time I've been using the Lumie Clear than they did previously.

You should know within the money-back period whether it's making any improvement (although I did find that my skin continued to improve throughout the first three months of treatment), so if it doesn't work for you it's no great loss!

By the way, a lot of GPs don't give the best advice about acne treatment, and they're not likely to know much about Lumie Clear since it's not yet available on the NHS. I struggled for 10 years with prescription treatments which never completely cleared my skin (but often dried it out and made it very sore), whereas 3 months using Lumie Clear did more than any of the medication I took.

Thanks for the response Daisy. The marks from old spots really bother me and its good to hear that Lumie can clear those up too.

My appointment was actually cancelled today but i will be seeing the doctor on Tuesday. I think i am 99% certain to try Lumie now. I dont want anymore antibitics.

This week i have stopped using face washes and OXY and have been applying sudocrem before bed. I am no worse off so far.

I have also heard good things about Aloe Vera gel so i might give that a try aswell

You're welcome :). The Lumie does take a while to work (I saw improvement within 3 weeks and totally clear skin in 1.5 months) you should probably come off the antibiotics gradually once the light has started to take effect, my doctor advised me to do so and I think it's why I didn't experience any set-backs when I eventually stopped the antibiotics. That said, if you've not been on them for long then it shouldn't be a problem anyway.

As regards topical treatments, it is difficult. I found that using nothing but the Lumie and warm water has improved my skin no end. Whatever you do use, bear in mind that it takes 6 weeks to be sure whether a topical is positively/negatively affecting your skin so you shouldn't start anything new within 6 weeks of beginning Lumie treatment or during the first 3 months of treatment, otherwise you won't know for sure which is responsible for any changes in your skin. Aloe and sudocrem both work really well for some people, others find them pore clogging after a few weeks of use :).

Good luck, I hope Lumie works for you as well as it has for me!

Well there has been a change of plan..after visiting the doctor yesterday, i ended up with another course of antibiotics. Admittedly, the spots had cleared up last week but the redness and marks remain. The spots can go for a week or two so it remains to be seen if it is the tablets afterall. As i said previously, i wasn't too keen on continuing with the antibiotics but the doctor persuaded me.

I took along some info on Lumie clear but he was pretty dismissive of it. He did mention some light therapy was available on the NHS but didnt seem to know anything about Lumie. He even said that UV light could damage the skin. I didnt bother telling him that Lumie was LED light as he had made his mind up by then.

So im carrying on with the tablets for now and have bought some aloe vera cream to try and fade the scars.

fingers crossed

Argh! Sorry just read your post and it made me feel angry! The trouble with GPs is that they will just dismiss anything they don't know about - as you said. There IS light therapy available on the NHS - I've been having it for the past 3 years - but you can only get an appointment every 3 months and although it's kept my skin relatively under control, I've still been having to use harsh topical treatments to try to combat severe breakouts.
I bought Lumie Clear 3 months ago because I've literally tried EVERYTHING in the 10 years I've been battling acne, and it's the best thing that's happened to my skin. And the reason I decided to go for the expenditure is because it was developed by Dr Chu, who is the dermatologist that I've been seeing on the NHS for the past 3 years. So go back and tell your GP that! Although he probably wouldn't have heard of him anyway :-)After 10 years of trying to change my acne by putting things into/onto my body, it's amazing to have something that works without that. Can't praise Lumie enough, and when I have my next appointment with Dr Chu next month I'll get to thank him personally! Good luck with your treatment x

Hi Lynda, what a lovely mum you are! The Clear completely got rid of my hormonal teenage acne (after 6 years of going to various GPs) when antibiotics, the pill and all sorts of topical treaments had failed. My skin was much clearer within 1 month of use and now, after five months of using the Clear daily, I can't remember the last time I had a spot! I feel so much more confident as a result and it has actually worked out cheaper in the long run as I no longer buy make-up, medicated face-washes and spot treatments etc.

I really can't recommend the Lumie Clear enough, this may sound incredibly vain but shedding the insecurity about my skin has completely changed my quality of life. I hope it works for your daughter as well as it does for me, but even if it doesn't Lumie has an excellent returns policy :).

Hi Lynda. The anti-biotic i am taking is Erythromycin. Not sure if you have tried that or not.

I have been spot free for about 3 weeks now. (although i have a red bump this morning but it seems to be under the skin..not a cyst like the others were)

I still have a couple of weeks to go before i go back to my doctor. I am happy for now but am worried what will happen when i stop taking the tablets.

Lumie might be an option afterall

Hey,
Im a 17 year old girl and i've suffered from acne since i was 12 or so, im extremely shy and i dont like to speak out in class or meet new people because of my skin!.
I was wondering whether Lumie Clear really is as good as it seems to be?, i've been researching this product for a few months now and 99% of reviews have been positive!
I've followed 4 different girls lumie clear trials on youtube and all of them were successful after a month, it sounds amazing!.

Can any product be that good?.

Also i suffer from chronic migraines, im not sure what my trigger is yet but i was wondering whether anyone knows if the lights on Lumie Clear is likely to cause head aches?? I heard that LED lights are bad for that sort of thing?.

Thank you!
