My wife has just bought me a bodyclock advanced because just like many of us on here I have sleep problems. I often find it hard to get to sleep, but wake up quite abit in the night. Traffic or sometimes just people talking, I think I might be the only person around that has been woken up by a hedgehog snorting in the back garden :? Does anybody use white noise to help them sleep :?: ive tried it in the past and it seemed to help. :) paul

I am on nights at the moment, and have to use earplugs to get any sleep at all in the day. Trouble is that one of my dogs thinks it's a game and I'm hiding things in my ears, regularly woken by him trying to nibble them out of my ear.

Hi Paul, I have not tried them myself, but your post reminded me of this site I was looking at awhile back when I had hellishly noisy neighbours - http://www.purewhitenoise.com/. They do CDs which may be more convenient than a specialised white noise machine.

I tried my bodyclock with the white noise turned on last night, it was a bit noisy, but the sunrise effect was good :) paul

Ive carried on using the bodyclock and have to say its brilliant. the only problem was the white noise, which I soon turned off and now im sleeping much better. I only use my little lightbox in the morning, that seems to help as well :) Does anybody else have problems with using their L box in the evening :?: paul

Good to see you're having good results with the bodyclock.

I've been using mine for about two weeks now, and to be honest I can't see how anyone could possibly want to use a normal alarm clock!

Much better to wake to a nice light bedroom! :D
I too find the white noise a bit too loud (pity it couldn't be controlled using the + / - keys on the clock. Perhaps for the next version of the bodyclock advanced?)

I know you can use the automatic fading of the white noise, but I'd prefer if you could set your own volume.

Hi Paul,

not sure if it will help but I recently went online and found a website that helps you find when you are best to use your light box based on your circadian rythm - I personally found that they were spot on with when I should use my light visor where as before I was pretty much in the dark (pun intended !) about hen I should use it and as a rsult it was very hit and miss and I gave up after a while. I have just bought a light visor as I just found it impossible to sit in front of my light box for 30-40minutes each day (unlike the nice lady in the picture I can't see a thing when I am wearing it so get little else done !)
My husbnad took the circadian rythm quiz and was found to be a morning person (opposite to me) and depsite the fact that he doesn't suffer from SAD he found it very helpful and generally interesting.
I have a lummie alarm clock and recently turned it round to face me rather than having it pushed back on my bedsie table against the wall - it has made such a dfference !

Good luck

Kerry
