HI Jessie

sounds like the brite spark which is the one I have and I know a couple of the other guys have it to.

It's a good starting point, I've had mine for about 4 years think I might try and change it over the next couple of years but thats only because I would like to spend less time in front of it. The average time needed with that one is about and hour where some of the more expensive ones only need about 20 mins. But for the price its great.

I would also recommend the dawn simulator. For me thats worth more than my light box as it helps me get up in the morning which is a really difficult problem for me.

Yo!
I use brite box. It's a folding design kinda like a book and it's as tough as old boots.
You can get them cheaper in the summer about £160 instead of £180 I think, but this is still cheap as it's vat exempt as long as you return the "I'm a saddie"form which comes with the box. (you don't need to be diagnosed)
They'll even split the cost across 2 consecutive months if you ask-the company name is Goldstaff Ltd.
Can't understand people quibbling about the cost, if you are ill money doesn't really come into it- if you can afford a pc and broadband then you can afford a box(that wasn't a dig at anybody just a general comment)
On the dawn simulator, I just bought an inexpensive timer that plugs into the wall socket and attached a spot light aimed down at the corner of my bedroom and bingo pretendy dawn!

My SAD arsenal:
1. VAT exempt Brite box on split payments
2. Pretendy dawn simulator made with £5 timer
3. SJW
4. omega 3
5. A good dose of fresh air now and again

Jobs a goodun

Regards obe :D

I use a winterbright on a timer to wake me in the mornings. During the summertime I piled a few things in front of it and it got turned to a less-useful angle.

I think I've realized that the light I use every morning also needs to be re-thought. I have a desk-lamp sort of light (10,000 lux) that sits on the top level of my work-desk. I'm dealing with a surprising amount of fatigue and need to get it at eye-level, but it's a monstrosity.

Almost tempted to get a third light-box that's more desk-friendly and use both at once.
