Hi,
My life has improved dramaticaly since I'v had my lightbox, I wouldn't be without it.
My husband and 2 daughters gain some benefit from it, none of them have S.A.D but they like my lightbox.
If you are worried about the expence, you can test one for a month to see if it will help you, they don't work for some people.
Take care

first of all thanks for the reply!
secondly i have just been to a sad clinic and been diagnosed with sad.
i have just started light therapy and after 3 or 4 days i definitely feel a lot better(like someone just turned the lights back on in my soul).
i think i am having trouble coming to terms with s.a.d, does it really exist?, do i really suffer from s.a.d?
i was curious to see if a "non sufferer" got the same lift as myself.

thanks again :D

I have a lightbox and I can't describe the benefits it brings me. Does it matter what you "have" - if light helps you then use it and live your life!

Hi Rangers,

I have a light box on most of the day on my desk at work but more often then not I have to switch it off when people come in to my office to talk to me as they find the light to bright. My boyfriend can not sit with me when I have my box on at home as he also finds it too bright. However when I lived at home my mum enjoyed the light on in the mornings and said she felt better but she does not have SAD. I have yet to meet someon who doesnt have SAD to get the same high I get from sitting in front of my various light boxes 8) I think people react differently to the light. Even people with SAD do not respond well to light therapy.
I know it is hard to come to terms with the fact you have SAD. I still find myself some days questioning it especially when Im having and alright day in Feb but as Im sure most people here would agree accepting you have it and finding what works for you is the best possible course of action.

Hope you feel better soon
Joanne

i have also found several non-sad sufferers who have asked to look at my lightbox out of curiosity and when ive switched it on they've run away complaining it was way too bright for them to be able to handle.
