Hello there all you lovely people. I have suffered with depression for many years now and have effectively been through the mill with therapies and help, inlcuding various anti-depressants and counselling. I feel quite fortunate, in that I've managed to learn to live with my depression but still suffer some really dark days and am currently struggling with motivation on my days off. I work for 8 day stretches and then get 6 days off. Despite all appearing okay on the surface, I have a tendency to turn night into day, then don't feel energised to deal with the day, so spend much of it asleep. I presently take 20mg of Citalopram and have done so for a few years. I find it definitely helps and on the couple of occasions I've tried coming off it, the demons return and my blackness descends. I live on my own and on the whole my life is fine, but I would like to try some form of product for SAD syndrome, which I believe is what is plaguing me at the moment, as during the summer months I am by and large okay. Is anyone able to recommend an excellent product? I'm not really able to sit in front of a lamp for ages, due to odd working hours and wonder if there is anything else that might be effective. I'm sorry if this is a little lengthy and perhaps a recurrent topic, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation ..... Paul

I have found light therapy very usefull so far.my problem is can't sleep rather than sleep al the time.I fall asleep about 11pm then up at 2 and thats pretty much it for the night.started light therapy 5 days ago and slept really well last night.if you can't sit to do therapy perhaps a light visor would help.then you can move around with it.
