Is the Elite worth the extra money or is the advanced the best option?

There are many extra's on the Elite compared to Advanced these include Sleep guided meditation to help you to wind down and relax at the end of the day if getting to sleep is an issue. Natural sounds to go to sleep to or at the end of the wake up sequence, Radio, Audio features choose a favorite MP3 track (requires SD card), seven day alarm facility,

All the Bodyclocks have a sunset as well as the sunrise.

Neither. Both over priced. Especially the Elite. I have one have regretted it from the day it arrived. For the price you get a REALLY poor set of inbuilt speakers, so poor it's like listening to the music in a tin can, unbearable and certainly not relaxing. Had to pay £20 extra to get a set of desktop speakers to plug into the headphone jack just to make it bearable. The so called MP3 playing being spouted above is just a REALLY poor one track only player. The radio, considering FM is going to be disconnected soon is still FM and not even DAB.

Avoid the Elite unless you want to burn money and you will HAVE to purchase extra speakers. As I can't make it clear enough, the inbuilt speakers DON'T make it relaxing.
