Im looking for a sunrise clock and between the philips or the lumie 300, but a deciding factor to me it is the brightness of the light because I plan to use it as a normal lamp too for reading in bed.
How many lux gives the 300 model?
Philips gives me 250 at 30cm, is this more than that?
All the bodyclocks have a good reading light. With the Bodyclock its not high levels of Lux that is delivered from the unit, because its all about a gradual increase in light (ie a gradual sunrise, a slow build up in light which offers the therapeutic benefit), which helps one of the sypmtoms of SAD, this address the waking process in the mornings. One wakes feeling more refreshed and better mood. Then we would suggest that one gets up and gets bright light from a light box, (a light box delivers a high level of Light which is measured in Lux) No ordinary bulb will deliver a high level of light. Bright light corrects the level of Melatonin that is being produced, it stops that lethargy feeling etc. The two work well together to be woken by the Bodyclock and then get up and get bright light from a lightbox. Hope this helps
