Hi I am Paul and live in London . Been in Priory etc and got life back almost on track - beenoff meds for 21 months and 4 daysso thatis good. Still have 'nasty' thoughts but can control them.

I was advised to get a lamp by my consulatant and have bought a Pharos . Been using 2 days . Simple question - it is really bright!!> Dont look directly at it but have at side of computer for 20mins . On full power I understand I need it for 20 mins but it is really strong light. Is that what others find or are my eyes sensitive. Can I get away with less than 20 mins?.

Sorry to be a pain as guess these have been asked before !!!

Hi Paul, I'm glad to hear that you're getting your life back on track. Well done.

I used my lightbox gradually when I first got it, why not try a couple of minutes at a time and when work up to a longer period? You do need to get the recommended exposure to get the benefit but it might take you a couple of weeks to get to that point.

Good luck!

Hi Paul - you get used to it! I have my light on all the time when I am at my desk to make sure I get enough (I teach so am running around a lot) I find everyone else thinks it is bright but I no longer really notice it apart from when it isn't on! Hang in there.
