Hi everyone,

Not seen much of the 'usual crowd' yet this 'season'. Memory probs at the moment so not sure even of who you all are...Suzie, PaulSt, OBE, Linda, Hadrian ermmmmm How are you all?

I've just 'upped my dose' to normal amount, having started the autumn on half a dose in the hope it would upset my system less. Worked up to a point, but now going thru it again! I think it's better than full dose onslaught.

Too much happening here means that the apple cart has been a little upset recently, but hoping things will calm down. Can always hope!

Said goodbye to dd for 6 months this weekend as she's gap-yearing at the moment and gone to Mexico. Will spend the rest of the week clearing up the havoc she has wreaked here in the fortnight she was home between visits.

Suzie, will get onto a cofffee soon!

Hi PI

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate at the moment. Hope you manage to get through it all without too much stress.

This is always a hard time, leading up to christmas with SAD. Its the time where there can be so much to do and yet the energy lapses to make it hard.

It is always good to see your face on the forum. you always give good support and are well thought of.

Take care

Hi purple & Me, sorry you are both having a hard time. Im a couple of months into my new job but finding it very stressful. It may be because Winter is just about with us and pulling me down a little, I guess we just have to keep fighting and hope for the best.

take care

Hello all,

Yes is a difficult time of the year as you say paulst. Poor you having to cope with a new job too. Good luck with that. I remember starting my job 2 years ago in November which added to the stress! Do you feel you can mention to anyone at work that you have sad?? Is a tricky subject I know because alot of people don't realise how bad sad can be!

Purpleivy, I would be tempted to go with dd to Mexico what with their climate being better! Hope you feel better and less stressed very soon.

Me, hope that you are ok and coping well?

Great to see you guys on here,

Donna x

DD has arrived safely. DH has a job application in for Mexico too, coincidentally, also one for the South of France, so here's hoping. Both might be too late for effective treatment this winter, but you never know, maybe next year.

Weather seems particularly gloomy in the NW this week, you're in Manchester, aren't you PaulSt?

Yes, and sadly the weather is awful. I keep dreaming about going to Menorca next Summer.

Paul....I am so glad you appear to have an understanding boss who has lessened the workload. That great news!

It's interesting to see how things were at this time last year! A year and 10 days ago. My dd had her 6 months in Mexico but dh's contract there didn't come off. What a shame I could have done with the sunshine.

However, when I was at a low ebb at the end of January I went to Mexico to see dd which had a restorative effect SAD-wise. I was fine right thru till the end of the summer. DH managed a trip there as well to go diving and so he'd been as well.

I see I had upped my dose by this time last year. Interested to compare that I'm still on a low dose at the moment.

The only real problems I'm having at the moment are getting my @r$£ out of bed in the mornings.

How are you all?

Sorry to hear that Paul. I know you don't live so far from me, so can vouch for the grotty weather.

Sun is in and out today, which is a change, but I don't think it's going to last. I have to go to work in a minute and I can see a rather large grey cloud heading my way!

This is my first year understanding what is wrong with me and it is a steep learning curve.

I had been feeling really good for about 6 weeks since I got a brite box and bodyclock. It felt like a miracle tranformation from the day before I got them (miserable) to the day after (normal summer happy)

But last week I also seemed to hit a wall so to speak. I just feel as though I cant really cope. I was taking 5-htp about a month ago and posted that I was feeling hyper so I stopped. On Monday I decided to try them again and I am feeling better now, so it is obviously something I now need, but didnt need a month ago.

This SAD seems to get worse as the winter progresses. I am slowly starting to understand how I react. As I have mentioned in other posts, I wish I had known about SAD twenty years ago.
