do you think SAD could go way or be lessened by moving north for a year then moving back making your mind appreciate that your home city is not as dark as where you were last winter.ie move from winnipeg 50n to resolute 70n and back?

Well, honey, I really do not think so. This isn't something that you can run away from because when you move back you are going to be dealing with the same ole thing. What you might want to consider though, is to head south during the winter months for say a vacation just to give yourself a reprieve.
