After a lot of investigation, I finally bought the Bodyclock ELITE 300 from Boots on Thursday.

After setting it all up, it did not do the sunrise or sound on Friday morning. I have another alarm to wake me up so I was alerted in time for work! Later that day, I re-adjusted the time to a later time, and the light did start to do its thing 30 minutes before hand.

Now this morning, I had the Monday setting as 07:30 and the alarm on it as 07:30 too, and again it did not light up or make any of the sounds (my backup alarm woke my up again - thank heavens I didnt just throw that away!). Bizarelly though, again I set the alarm to half an hour later, and while I was getting ready; the light started to glow as expected.

What is wrong with my BodyClock? Should it be like this or have I set something up completely wrong? I was thinking of returning it to Boots for a replacement product as I feel this one is faulty.

Any advice?

I'd take it back for an exchange. My bodyclock works perfectly. These are expensive items, and if you have any doubt re its reliability you should exchange it now.

Thank you. This is just what I was thinking.

Oh well, thats all packed up....lets hope #2 will work! If not, I'll just give Lumie a call directly to see what they suggest....you never know, there could have been a short amount of faulty batches if I do get another thats the same!

I should have added that getting a faulty Lumie is very unusual. I have had 2 items from them (bodyclock and brightspark) and both work perfectly, every time. If you have the misfortune that the second one is faulty then it is more likely to be the distributors or Boots' storemen dropping them!

Well I got it replaced and just set it up only to find that the bulb in this one is a dud one lol! Not having much luck am I!
Lets hope this works in the morning. Its currently left at default alarm settings, as I need to be up at 7am....heres hoping....

This sounds to me that the Boots delivery folk, or their store men are bashing these items around. It definitely sounds like they are being mishandled. If I were you I would email Lumie and let them know that this has happened. I'm sure that Boots is at fault here. If you take this one back is there another shop you can buy one at? I don't know where you are, but John Lewis also sells them.

To be honest, I dont know if there is another local shop that sells them as it was by pure chance that I found these ones at Boots.
I only purchased from there just in case there was a problem, and Im glad I did in a way now!

If this doesnt work, I'll contact Lumie directly for advise and assistance.

Thank you for your advice though. I have taken it and emailed Lumie advising them of my experience I've had with Boots.

Well the other one was dodgy too. It came with a broken bulb to start off with, so I had to get another one at a local 24-hour store, then when it did wake me up, it had interferance.

I called Lumie and they are now sending me out a brand new unit, and a pre-paid package to send my one back to them.

Fantastic customer service...maybe third time lucky? :D
