My doctor has finally diagnosed me with SAD after years of terrible winters. My main problem is that I work nights. I work on a 4 night on 4 night off, 12 hour shift pattern. So I am tired all the time anyway, but during the dark months, I can barely function. I have 2 young(ish) children and I am really struggling. My husband helps as much as he can, but even he cannot do everything.
Can anyone offer any advise?

Have you considered light therapy?
