i moved back to my hometown in the northeast (from southwest) 5 years ago and every year my SAD symptoms have gotten worse. i've tried light therapy, antidepressants, vitamins and exercise. nothing seems to work. i have totally withdrawn from my friends and husband. i desperately want to move back to a warmer climate, but my husband refuses. at this point i cannot afford to go solo. help.
Im in the northeast chuck, and yes mine got worse after moving here 15 years ago. Still I cope, its hard.
You really have got to get out in those lovely sunny days, and yes we do have them. Exercise more. go for a power walk (the times you dont want to do it is the best time) try to take control of your SAD. You dont deserve to feel like this, work hard at getting a routine together with regards sleeping, exercising, socialising, eating, getting out. When you are feeling this low its so easy to follow a downward spiral. Turn it round and take control now!!
Pop to the docs chuck, a supportive doctor is fantastic. I take 5htp from health shop which helps me loads during my bad days, but check out its history to make an informed choice on this one! I try to stay off wheat too. Just a choice I have made, seems to help my brain function and makes me less sleepy!
Goodness me, theres me telling you to get routines for sleep etc and Im not following the same rules its 00.15!!!!! Best take control of my SAD symptoms and say Night night
Hi Me, I hope you don't mind me asking but how do you get on with the 5htp, I tried it I think it was last year although I have brain fog so would not swear on it, thing is I couldn't take to them as I found they made me feel funny, like not in control so to speak, I wonder if perhaps like other mood things they have a settling in period, sorry to ramble.
