I purchased the Bodyclock Elite 300, when my cheaper old Philips one died. But it used to have an increasing sound as part of the sunrise alarm. The Elite, which costs around 4-5 times as much doesnt have this. Im just wondering if I will get used to it, and not miss the increasing sound alarm.. or whether I should take this Elite back whilst its within its trial period, and just buy the cheaper one again.
I mean, all the extra features are great, but im hearing a murmur of discontent with things like.. the poor SD card slot, the lack of DAB, the lack of increasing sound alarm, the inability to set the max volume(ie. the manual is wrong)... And to be truthful, the controls(and manual) seem to me(whos an IT professional).. to be WAY more complicated.. to achieve what you want. And that what you can actually achieve seems to be relatively limited from the options available to you, for the cost.
btw.. I started a new Elite 300 thread, as the other one seemed to be more about, how to operate one. Im more specifically interested in people's opinion whether theyve got their moneys worth, in comparisons to the feature sets of others out there.
I basically dont mind paying what I must to get the features I am interested in. This Elite 300 seems the best of the options available. But i'd hate to find out a year later that there is/was one that has all the Elite does, but with an increasing sound alarm.. one where you can just leave the alarm on in the morning(ie. it doesnt switch off automatically after 22 minutes).. one where you can properly play mp3s through, etc.
Maybe it's a feature of these things that 'they' feel they have to make them too complicated for a person with 'Winter Brain' to operate! I have a dawn simulator that my normal lamp plugs into and it's a PITA to use. I nearly gave up when I first got it.
