Hi, all. I've been living in Norway the past few years. At first, the long dark winters didn't get to me, but now they are, so I purchased a lightbox to deal with it.

The thing is, at the peak of winter, we get maybe 5-6 hours of light here -- from a little before 9am to a little after 3pm. So, I'm not sure when to use the lightbox. Do I use it in the morning AND in late afternoon, for example, first to help wake up and then to keep awake in the evening when I start to get sleepy around 6pm or so?

I tried googling for an answer to this but was unsuccessful. Hopefully, one of you can provide some advice. Thanks much.

Its actually pretty similar here in the UK. Its very dark around 3 or 4pm and by 5 or 6pm its pitch black.

I think the best time for the full blast is in the morning for the full reccomended time. But I've heard some also do another little blast in the afternoon too at lunchtime. Just so long as you don't use it too close to when you need to sleep I think thats the only concern. Since it might make it difficult to sleep if your body is in 'day' mode.

Some actually find it works for them in the evening though. There's been some studies done with evening-usage. Everyones different. But the general reccomendation is morning - afternoon.

I use it in the morning when I first wake up, I find that's the best time for me.
