I find just this last few days I've really started to go downhill. I thought maybe this year I would fare better, but am finding myself extremely irritable and restless the last few days. How's everyone else doing?

Hi Linda, I am feeling pretty much the same. I had a really positive week last week after a few really awful days the week before, but this week I seem to be going backwards. It is so hard to motivate myself to get up in a morning, when I get home from work, I am just so exhausted, I feel like I have no time to enjoy as its dark and gloomy and all I want to do is sleep.
I keep trying to stay positive, but then when I seem to be coping better, the awful feelings and negative thoughts just come flooding back and bring me crashing back down :-(
Getting really fed up now, and just wish these awful feelings would leave me alone, I want my life back :-(

I'm in a bit of a low, but then I'm in what I tend to find are the worst three weeks of the year. I'm trying not to be hard on myself. I've upped my dose of med, which is probably making me feel even more drowsy, but I feel I need it.

Since I got in from work at 11.30, all I've done is sit on the sofa, mess with the computer and watch TV. Pedicure and mani in a bit so have to shift myself. I figure that the ironing and housework will wait.

Ive had my medication increased to 40mg and at long last I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Im just about to start a photography course, life at the moment is okay, not brilliant but improving.

Yes, I just increased my meds last week - hopefully in another week or so I will start feeling better.

Take care everyone.

Hi all, hope you start feeling better soon.

I'm completely exhausted, I just can't get up in the morning, despite my dawn simulator, it feels like the hardest thing in the world. If it weren't for my boyfriend making me get up, I think I'd sleep all day. I fall asleep on the tube to work if I can get a seat. My mood's not as bad as it could be, due to the A.D's, but just trying to get through each day at the moment.

It's so comforting to come onto this forum and see other people who understand, SAD can be a very lonely experience.

Only a couple of months to go everyone, until the daffodils come out and it gets a bit warmer! :-)

I'm having trouble in the mornings at the moment Bagpuss. I think part of it is the medication makes me tired. Since I last posted the fatigue has got worse, but mood is OK and I"m not bursting into tears all the time. I guess like the OP, another week or two and I'll start and decrease again.

Yes, it's such a bad time - and like you say, Bagpuss, it can be very lonely. Mornings are an absolute disaster at the moment - Heaven help anyone who speaks to me when I struggle out of bed at 10 or 11 am! (Good thing I'm self-employed!) I'm also feeling quite panicky, and overwhelmed at the thought of doing even small tasks that I would not normally think twice about. I know it will get better - but that's cold comfort right now.

I'm surprisingly doing quite well. I use the lightbox regularly for an hour each morning, take code liver (fish) oil and a multivitamin and spend at least 30 minutes a day outside.

I think the fact we've had above average number of sunny days here helps tremendously as well.

Still, I have my down days...
