Hi!
I want to get one of the Lumie 'alarm' clocks which have the sunset and sunrise features for christmas from my mother, however she says she won't buy me one because I sleep with my head under the covers! She says it won't work because I won't be able to see the light. But I think, then how do I wake up in the mornings anyway as I always have my head under the covers! :?
Any words of wisdom?

Thanks.

Hi Badiyah,
Can I ask you, surely you don't always stay completely under your duvet?
Well you would find it hard to breath would you not???

Maybe if a bit of you can see out of your duvet, then you would see the light and hopefully then you would be encouraged to pop your head from out of the covers???

Other than that, I can't think of anything else except putting the lumie under your covers!!! No ignore that last comment, it sounds silly!!!

Hope it all goes well

Love Donna x

Tell your mum to fork out and stop lookimg for excuses to buy you a cheaper xmas pressie. Tell her you have been getting violent fantasies about matricide and you have been assured this will help calm you down

I have a lummie and its great, the one problem I had was if I was facing the other way it wasn't as effective. I now have it possisioned on a small shelf just above the head board so it works no matter what side I sleep on.

My other small gripe is for £90 it could have done with a radio too. I think it would help people justifi it more...

i've got one.
i still just go back to sleep so fortunately it has a snooze button,
but it is a nicer way to get up cos the room isn't dark.
my hubby has trouble getting to sleep and he said the sunset helps
him.
it's certainly worth a go especially if your not paying for it. :)

Hi Badiyah ~

There is now a Bodyclock with a radio, see cut and paste from this website about it:

Bodyclock Classic with Radio -
available late November : £79.95
additional special features:
Classic clock face
Optional dial illumination
FM/AM clock radio
Sunray light effect

Perhaps that's what you are looking for.

My 20 year old son is very difficult to wake, but he now prefers using his standard Lumie (which has a beep at the end of the sunrise time), and has given his brother his old radio alarm clock. This 20 year old also wakes up in a much better frame of mind now too! So there's a bonus point for his poor old mum! Difficult as he is to wake, he only rarely sleeps till the beep which is interesting.

Anyway, these "wake-you-up-easy" clocks I find brilliant. No aggro, no jarring, really calm way to start the day. The rest of the day left to it's own devices might well fall apart, but the beginning is ok!

Hope that helps. Julie

Ah well at least the price is coming down, with more features. I know the amont of stuff that is made in china is amazing and they still sting us with huge mark-ups. Ohh don't get me started

DAB would be a better option, but thats me being picky.
