Hi Old Hippy, 46 year old weed-head here

Non prescribed medication -presuming you mean cannabis?

Well it really messed up my head in the winters. I guess the latest strong stuff (even home grown No1 Skunk) seems to make my depressioon from SAD even worse. I would recommend anyone using moderate amounts (that I guess is anything more than "occasional" use) to keep an eye on their mood swings in the winter whilst using the weed. My wife spotted the problem after three or four years of worsening seasonal depression which coincided with considerably heavier cannabis use.

Now Im a summertime smoker only. Works for me, might help someone else.

You keep hugging the trees, OldHippy. When there are no hippys left, the world will be a poorer place.

Not da weed. I have been performing meditation during the winter and the old popular incense.

Mind you I must agree that when I spent a winter in Holland and sampled there the legally purchased weed of a not so strong type like skunk I did find the ability to cope with da effects better. Not of course i am condoning any such action.

These days docs seem to trust in the prescriptions a lot more then the natural methods, proberly because a lot work and cant explain.. Mother nature is wonderfull..

Nice to hear from another head around, keep smilling and keeping the nature providing for us all :D
