Has anyone had any Hypomania. For the past week (since the sun has been shining) I can't seem to sit still. I am totally exhausted and in agony with my joints etc but just can't keep still.

All weekend was spent washing (if it didn't move it went in the washing machine ) Six washing loads later, all washed and then ironed..... not done any proper ironing for about 6 months. It has been a case of ironing when needed!

Today it has been cleaning windows, washing all UPVC frames, doors, weeding the drive etc......

My partner and son are in shock  they have just come in to a lovely cooked dinnner........

Not sure that hypermania is what I have, but have definitely been doing more since the weather got better.

I believe you mean "HYPOmania", which is a less-severe (probably even enjoyable) form of mania. I had a bout of it last Saturday, I cleaned up the whole house in about 3 hours, something I haven't done in months, literally. I have short snaps of it which lead into snaps of depression this time of year, until I get stuck in hypomania by mid-April and that lasts until mid-June, when I become "normal" again.

I live for that feeling, actually.

Hypomania can indeed be quite life-enhancing as Bill suggests above.
My only advice would be that if you find yourself in this situation, try to keep matters in perspective and to think important things out. I didn't, and have spent a lifetime ruminating on the past.
Enjoy.

i sometimes stare at the sun just to get hypomania, i also get it if i sit at my lamp to long. it does give me a tremendous lift but it can be very dangerous as i take some crazy risks even to the point when i am a danger to myself also serious insomnia.

I sit in the park at lunchtimes, trying to get as much sun to my retina as possible. I don't mean staring at the sun - as this will make me go blind, but I've read that the light is enough if you close your eyes.

Sometimes I feel like a lizard - at any opportunity I look at the sky in the direction of the sun - my boyfriend calls me a sunlizard - hence the sign off on this forum

Definitely feeling the Hypomania coming on.

I tried biking 25 miles on gravel roads with 40 mph winds on Sunday. I knew the weather wasn't good enough and the trail sucked, but I just HAD to do something. I was beyond exhausted when I was done, but it sure as hell beats how I feel in the winter by a longggggggggggg shot.

Coming into a week of cloudy weather now here though after a way-above-average weekend, so I expect I'll be leveling off.

I have felt brilliant up until the last couple of days when I slipped back a little. Last week when the weather was good, I felt wonderful and seemed to have so much energy. Its supposed to be sunny again in a day or two, I can hardly wait :D
