After meditating for a while I commenced to look at the tree outside my window and came to this thought:

Are people who have SAD like a tree?

It stands there year after year enduring the cold and heat.

During the summer it is a delight to see and is in full bloom with nature and the world.

Comes the beconning of Winter it commences to lose its brightness a little at a time till, hanging on to whatever green it can, then in mid Winter it looks bare, and depressed.

Come the returning of spring it starts to produce health, brighness and a pleasure to see.

Just a deranged ramblings of a old Hippy :D

True oldhippy I feel like your tree!

But, for some strange reason, Spring does nothing good for me at all. February is always terrible, heralding March which is the ultimate in its ravaging awfulness, this is as perennial as the grass itself.

By mid April though, once the sun has found its lift, I too am up and away!

Hi Oldhippy, Julie and everyone!

I agree with you both about the tree issue. I myself feel like your tree and I am also like Julie. I don't receive a surge of energy at all until April or May sometimes so the spring and the summer is almost over before I begin to feel normal again. :?

Maybe we should find a tree that blossoms in winter and become more like that tree. I would love to be like a conifer myself. That tree survives anything and can cope through all the bad weather and stress. I think I'll become a conifer next winter and get my boyfriend to plant me in our garden!! :D :D :D :D :D

I'm in a little of a cheeky mood today - sorry!

Claire xx

Same here April is what I want pref today if possible.

this year with my break in the sun I came back in May like a totally dif person, full of confidence and self esteam, it was the best I have felt in many years and I mean many years. :D

My energy levels had risen so much and it was like my batteries had been fully charged with a few spare ones ready.

Took the government 3 months to totally wreck everything and put me on the sick to this day.

But I fight still calling on the spares

Yep, I agree that sometimes the Spring does no good at all. Some years it is mid May and I am beginning to fear I won't perk up and then hey presto it happens!! I have never felt bad in June or July though and am usually fine in August.

Keep smiling - I think I am being posted as 'guest' for some reason, but it is me!!!
