Hi Amy

Now, I've been and had a little look at 'posting a poll' and panicked!

So, I thought I'd ask you how to do it as I think you could be called our resident expert! Or, if it's rather complicated, and my brain is a lot older than yours, could you please put these two polls up for me (pretty please) ~ it's stuff I would really like to know, and hopefully others might find it interesting too...

1. For people to score months for their personal SAD intensity 1 (mild) 10 (intense) from August to May. This would be a valuable statistic.

2. The age and sex of the users of the forum, simply to have it all in one place. This would just be for background information.

What do you reckon?

Thanks Amy, Julie

Hmm, thank you for the compliment but I'm not sure about this one...

The polls tend to work on a single selection e.g. you have to put options for yes and no and people select one. Unfortunately I don't know that you can do a 'rating' system without having a million boxes i.e. 1-10 for all the months which works out at 120 boxes which I think would be about 5 pages long! oh, the image of that is wonderful.

potentially you could set up individual polls for each month but the useful thing about ratings is being able to compare your own reactions, e.g. 2 months might turn out to be equal severity so you could actually pick up on a trough and a peak in your symptoms.

the other option is to speak to outsidein, they might be interested in a bit of market research...

I'm going to fiddle around with some polls now because you've intrigued me... so if lots of polls appear for about a day don't be surprised.

Hi Amy ~ I'm sooooooo please to see you're back!

Yes, the Polls... But, you can see what I am after can't you, and it would be so interesting to get this much info out of saddies, and here we all are in one place, it's a rare opportunity!

Seriously though don't give yourself grief over it. If it is less complicated than you first anticipated, then fine. But otherwise just say and I'll have a word with OutsideIn - after all the results of the Polls might well form a new page on their website. Stats for other folk who might then just manage to realise that perhaps this is their problem too, and be on the road to 'living with it' rather than 'suffering with it' as you so appropriately said in a post of yours way back......

Hmm, have almost got the Queen of Ramblings hat haven't I?!

Good luck, now don't spend tooo much time on it will you, otherwise I'll feel bad.

Thoughts in sky blue..... Julie
