• Zip is a nifty LED device that's certified to the Medical Device directive and delivers 2,500lux when positioned 50cm away.

• Bright light is proven to be an effective treatment for SAD and using Zip every day over the autumn and winter will make a big difference to symptoms such as tiredness, over-eating and a lack of energy and motivation.

• The LEDs used in Zip have been specially selected for their extra light output in the blue part of the spectrum that's known to be particularly effective at regulating circadian rhythms. So it might not be as bright as a traditional 10,000lux lightbox but it's just as effective.

• Recommended treatment time is 30 minutes. The adjustable stand will help you to position Zip correctly and the timer will ensure you don't skimp on your light therapy. Note: the stand is clear and not grey as shown in one of the photos.

If it's going to an address in mainland UK or Northern Ireland then we'll take care of the delivery costs.

All light therapy products are sent by courier on a standard service (delivery within three working days). We'll email to let you know when it's on the way and include tracking information. Small items like bulbs are sent using Royal Mail First Class post.

If we receive your order during office hours it will usually be dispatched the same day, maybe the next working day if we're busy, so please allow four working days for your order to arrive.

Need it fast?

Choose Express Delivery when you checkout and pay £6 for courier delivery the next working day.

If we receive your order during office hours it will leave the same day and be with you the next working day; please don't leave it until late in the day to order as our couriers usually collect around 4pm. If you really do need it quickly and want to be sure, it's best to give us a ring.

These delivery times apply to the UK mainland and Northern Ireland. Deliveries to some areas such as the islands of Scotland, Scilly Isles, Isle of Man and Channel Islands may take a little longer.

Disclaimer: Once your parcel has been collected from our warehouse the courier - not Lumie - is responsible for getting it to you within the stated time. Please be aware that during busy periods, like Christmas, they may not always be able to deliver when they say they will!

Returns and our 30-day Home Trial

Our 30-day Home Trial gives you the chance to try Zip for yourself and make sure that it's right for you. This is one of the big advantages of buying direct from Lumie.

• 30-day Home Trial is available in the UK only.
• If at any time up to 30 days from the date of delivery you decide to return something, please contact us first.
• If a unit is returned scratched or damaged we will tell you what the problem is and may have to charge for any repair at a cost of £20/hour plus materials. We will not charge for minor problems.
• The unit should be returned in its original packing if possible.
• This does not affect your statutory rights.

Most people notice an improvement in their symptoms after just a few days, so please give us a call if you feel that Zip isn't having an effect and we'll try to help.If you decide to return your light, we will supply a pre-paid postage bag. As soon as we receive it we will refund all your money.We do not refund express delivery charges.

Cancellation

By law, you also have a 'cooling-off' period, the right to cancel any purchase and receive a full refund by e-mailing or writing to us up to seven working days the day after you receive it. To return any item, please send it securely - the original packaging is best if you have it - to our usual address. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.

I have been using Lumie light boxes to manage my SAD for the past six years, and all have been very helpful. The Zip is the best product yet- it is compact enough to use on my desk at work and while travelling, but works just as well as my previous, bulkier light box. Lumie's warranties and customer services are also excellent; when my Zip stopped working after two years, the care line was friendly and efficient, and the product was repared quickly, without charge.

I've been using a large light lamp for nine years and it's served me very well. However, I've just bought the Zip as I was finding that I had less time in the morning to sit in front of my bigger lamp. As the Zip is so portable, I've been able to bring it to work and pop it on my desk, and then it will be no problem to take it home on weekends. I'm used to the bright light from the traditional lightbox fluorescent tubes, but I do find the Zip quite dazzling if I turn my head a certain way. I'm sure that I'll get used to where to position it for best effect though - I've only had it a few days! On a more general note, I have been managing SAD symptoms successfully for nine years, combining a Lumie dawn simulator and a light lamp. I recommend Lumie products to everyone I know; I think their work is amazing :)

More than SAD, I need help getting over jetlag as I am regularly working in Europe, China and North America. Typically, I arrive and am expected to start work at local start-of-day the next morning - this may be teaching, interviewing or reviewing local products and I need to be fully awake and there. The Lumie ZIP has been a fantastic help in this, easy to pack, and really effective when used every morning. I would not want to travel overseas without it.

Very convenient as it is extremely lightweight and compact. At first I thought positioning it would be a problem but I find its actually quick and easy to use. I have it on my lap or nearby whilst using the computer or watching TV. When done I can store it out of the away and forget about it until the next day. As it has a hint of blue light added in and a different bulb than other lightboxes it seems the treatment time is shorter which is great. This was my first lightbox and it seemed glaringly bright at first but you surprisingly get used to it quite quickly. Its tough to evaluate something thats works in such a gentle and subtle way but I feel it has helped and would reccomend it.

I love the Lumie Zip. I no longer dread the darker winter months and feeling down and energy-less. I bought the Lumie Zip because it's portable and easy to use wherever I am. I work shifts and this is ideal for use on those dark mornings when I struggle to get going. To save time, I tend to use the light whilst doing my make-up in the mornings.

I love this as it`s so simple to use, and it has really made a difference to my SAD and mild depression. I use it for about 20 minutes soon after I get up. Brilliant that it`s portable too.

I chose the Zip for SAD because of it's portability. If there isn't time before driving to work I just pop it in my bag and start with it at my desk. It's also an excellent reading light for students etc who are on the move all the time, so we have 2 in the household. I would recommend it.

I have used the zip for the last 13 months and particularly like the fact that it's so readily transportable - so I can use it in the bedroom, at the breakfast table or if necessary take into work and use whilst at the computer. Battery life is OK - does need recharging after every 3 - 4 sessions and could maybe do with a warning light when battery is low (as its frustrating when it goes off mid-session)

I had always suffered from the 'winter blues' and thought that all of this light therapy was nonsense. It was only after one particularly bad winter where I found it even harder to cope and my confidence was at rock bottom that I gave it a go. I can't tell you how much this lamp has changed my life. Using it every morning makes me feel super confident and sociable and I don't suffer from paranoia anymore or feel constantly like staying in bed. This particular lamp is ideal for me... I can sit at my desk, on the sofa, in bed and carry on my day as normal with the light shining on my eyes for 30 minutes. Don't hesitate in buying this lamp if you suffer from SAD!

I decided to try this product last year as I was finding that I could not stay awake during winter evenings. I found that 30 mins use when I got in from work made me feel more energised and I got more out of my evenings. The on button has to be held down for a bit and this could be improved on. The battery life is short so it needs to be charged between each session. It does work though and really helped my symptoms of tiredness and low mood!

I love this light as it's so compact. I can tidy it away at home and it's easy to take to work. I also hang it off the top of my laptop (don't know if I should!) which is very handy! Great to have the energy boost through the dark winter months when I usually struggle.

I was recommended the lumie by my doctor. I suffer from m.e. It does give me a boost of energy. I love that it is small and doesn't take up much room either. I find it particularly useful in the dark winter months.

I previously owned a much larger light box which I found rather cumbersome to set up and use on a daily basis in the winter months. For this reason, I rather dipped in and out of using it, although when I did use it, I felt the light box definately lifted my mood. So I bought a Zip this autumn as a compact replacement. Again, as with the large light box, I feel that the Zip helps lift my mood, combatting SAD. In addition, to my mind the benefits of the Zip are: - it is very compact, so it can easily be put on a table whilst you eat, read or talk, and it can also be simply put away out of sight (unlike my larger light box which I couldn't just put away in a drawer) - it is easy to adjust by tilting it up and down - it has a timer so that it turns itself off when the time you set is complete - when charged, it can be used without the charger and cable The price on the Lumie website is very competitive.
